Flows

The design for Rietlanden organizes traffic flows in a safe and elegant way. The flows are confronted with the angular geometry of the piers in Amsterdam’s former Eastern Harbor. Elevated grass fields fill the gaps, an artwork symbolizes the collision. The grass fields are planted with Italian poplars. The rustle of their leaves in the wind mixes with the sound of rubber tyres on asphalt, of engines. A potential void became a space.
